High School Students and Faculty Go to Africa
On Valentine’s Day, February 14th 2013, 34 students took part in the High School’s fourth trip to South Africa. During the week in South Africa many amazing things took place. School supplies, clothing, personal items and food were delivered to over 100 children at an ongoing project that VCHS has supported for 5 years through the STAK Club. A building was remodeled to be used as a center for toddlers to be taken care of while their parents work. The students and faculty took food, medicine and water to the homebound and sick in a place called Freedom Park. The students attended church, went to a game reserve and had students speak in high schools in the Rustenburg area. In addition 10 of the students were baptized on our last day in Africa. In all this was an outstanding trip, full of adventure, hard work and spiritual growth.
