Vocal Ensemble
Valley Christian High School is proudly represented by three vocal
music groups. Vocal Ensemble (Forgiven), and Advanced Choir meet
daily. Concert Choir is a combination of those two groups and
holds regularly scheduled rehearsals after school. All three groups

Forgiven
"...no good thing does He withhold

Forgiven is the premiere vocal ensemble
at Valley Christian High School. Students selected for Forgiven are the top vocal musicians in the department. Members have
an extensive music theory background, can demonstrate basic music
notation, possess a knowledge of all major scales, and understand
the parameters of sight reading vocal music.
The group also gives students the opportunity
to compete in jazz and choral festivals throughout the year. Most
importantly, members possess an incredible heart for ministry.
Forgiven is first and foremost a music ministry,
reaching out into the community and allowing for the love of God
to radiate, touching deeply those they come in contact with. People
wishing to join the group must audition each year and have participated
in a performing group at Valley Christian High School.
Advanced Choir

Advanced Choir is open to all Valley Christian
High School students. The course is geared for vocal students
to move at a very rapid pace through music theory, ear training,
and vocal production. Students will also learn the foundations
of vocal jazz music such as scat singing and will participate
in jazz and choral festivals with Forgiven.
Concert Choir
Throughout the school year, Forgiven
and Advanced Choir work together to from one mass choir. This
Concert Choir will gather vocal music students together to learn
vocal music selections for Christmas performances, CMEA festivals,
and other large venues. Extracurricular rehearsals are scheduled
for this group.
