General, vocal and instrumental music is a part of the regular school day program.

All 4th and 5th grade students play a musical instrument, choices include piano, orchestra, or band.

Each class meets with a music teacher weekly for general music. The students meet for choir and perform in the Christmas and Spring Concerts. There is also a select vocal ensemble, “Kingdom Kids”, comprised of 4th and 5th grade students.

The instrumental program includes Handchimes, band and orchestra instruments. 4th and 5th grade students may audition to be a part of the Handchimes group. Orchestra students may begin study at 3rd grade, and band students may begin study the second semester of 3rd grade. The instrumental instruction is a pullout program during the school day. The instrumental groups also perform in the Christmas and Spring Concerts.

The Handchimes and vocal Ensemble perform several times during the year for community events at a local shopping mall, churches and nursing facilities. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to minister.

In the fall of 2009, VCES launched the Junior Conservatory.  this integrated visual and performing arts intensive program allows interested students to develop their God-given artistic beauty.
