The Junior High School provides sixth, seventh and eighth grade students with a nurturing environment as they explore a departmentalized approach for all subjects. With a variety of academic options, students will be able to pursue knowledge at a level that meets their specific needs. Students will also be able to explore unique opportunities through the diverse selection of electives that accompany the core academic courses.

8th Grade Parent and Student 5-Year Plan Presentation
This web-based presentation will give eighth graders and parents a head start on planning their ninth grade schedules, particularly with a view toward college preparation.
Topics will include:
- The natural flow of math, science, English, history, and foreign language throughout high school with a view towards graduation and college.
- Honors classes versus standard college prep classes.
- The role of extra-curricular activities and programs (such as the Conservatory) in the high school experience.
- Maximizing the second semester of the eighth grade year to prepare for high school.

General Overview
Emphasis
is placed on preparing students for the comprehensive curriculum
of the high school by developing good study skill and discipline
for more advanced academic work. Honors classes are offered in
English, Math and Science.
Core classes include Bible, English,
Math, Physical Education, Science and History. Elective course
offerings at the Junior High School are outstanding and a partial
list includes instrumental and vocal music classes, art, computer
animation, DVD yearbook, yearbook, Spanish, Latin, computer keyboarding
and journalism.
By the time students reach the high
school, they have honed their critical and analytical skills and
are ready to meet the demands of a challenging curriculum. Students
are required to pass a constitution test, typing/MS applications
test and writing proficiency exam before matriculating to the
high school level.
