2012 Alumna Megan Sola-Guinto to Attend The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts

(now using the stage name Elise Sola)

In September, 2014, VCHS alumna Music Minor and vocalist Megan-Sola-Guinto will be a student at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, better known as LIPA, in Liverpool, England. This specialist university was co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty and officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II in 1996. Since then, it has become one of the leading schools in the world in specifically pop/contemporary music and produces both highly successful and highly demanded musicians. In addition to music, LIPA also offers world-class degrees in acting, community drama, dance, sound technology, theatre and performance technology, theatre and performance design, and music theatre, and entertainment management.

Megan is one of 55 young artists from around the world to be accepted in the B.A. Music (Honours) degree, and the official acceptance rate, as of 2010, is 4% worldwide. The location of the Institute in Liverpool is actually Paul McCartney's former school building that the school spent millions of pounds renovating to make LIPA. They also recently purchased John Lennon's former school to expand.

" I owe much of my vocal preparation to VCHS's Conservatory," said Megan. "Without the training I received there vocally, I am highly certain that I would never have been able to receive this incredible opportunity to study in a location so historic in music with musicians who have helped to shape what music is today."

Megan is now using the stage name Elise Sola.  Check out links to her music on Facebook,

We can't wait to see her success in the future!
