Junior Emily James won the top 2017 "USA Camp Super Sensational" award, with Jenna Kautzer, Chandler Phelps, and Elizabeth Rebello also earning finalist spots.
Christiana Schiller had a busy summer competing and winning in two major competitions for singers and was selected to perform at Carnegie Hall in December.
Members of the OAE will be working on the 2017 show this week from 9am to 9pm on campus. Students interested in joining should come to the Conservatory office or contact Troy Gunter or Jeff Wilson.

Annie earned the highest award at the CMEA 2017 Solo and Ensemble Festival in May.
In May, students got a feel for performing for strangers, or "busking" on their guitars on Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz.
Doors open at 6pm, the concert will begin at 7pm. Purchase tickets at the door - $10 adults, $7 students. Includes appetizers, drinks and desserts.

Conservatory Music Major and pianist Elliot Wuu has announced that he will attend The Juilliard School this fall with a full scholarship
At the Winter Guard International Championships in Dayton Ohio, the ensemble took first place in Scholastic A Division over 11 mid-west bands.

The One O'Clock Jazz Band includes VCHS Alum Howie Dietz on Saxophone. The VCHS Jazz Ensemble will also perform.
On their 2017 Spring Tour of the West Coast, the choir performed at junior high and high school chapels and provided workshops and musical exchange with the VCS choirs.
