Freshman Emily James wins First Place Soloist in the Middle Division; the team scores 2nd Place in Small Hip-Hop & Character Dance, and 3rd Place in Officers' & Small Jazz Dance.
Leading up to championships in Orlando, Florida, the Vivid Dance Team placed quite well at three competitions in the Bay Area.
The Junior High & High School Winter Guard teams have done well on the 2016 California Color Guard Circuit.
After recording her first LP in Los Angeles, Anja traveled to her home for the competition, being nominated for Best Performance, Best Song, and Best New Artist, winning the latter.

From the VCHS Jazz Combos, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, to visiting university choirs such as Chapman College, the lunchtime crowd enjoys beautiful performances by great musicians.
Members of the Winter Winds Ensemble were invited to perform in San Francisco as part of the week-long Super Bowl 50 festivities.
After a first place win in their division, the group was one of five bands invited to finals, and won the top prize over all. Vocal Jazz Ensemble took 4th place out of 17 vocal groups competing.
The classic French musical is a concert collaboration of the high school choir, orchestra and theatre departments.

"The Marriage of Figaro" at the California Theatre also featured VCHS Musical Theatre teacher and voice coach Lindsay Roush in the chorus. She also performed a featured duet piece.
As a Western Band Association Class 4A band, the VCHS students came in 8th place out of 20 bands in their class, and only .3 of a point from making the large band 4A/5A finals competition.
This was a new experience for the students, actually leading worship at San Jose Christian Reformed Church, versus performing for the student body in chapel
