On February 11, 2016 the ASL class was taken to breakfast by Ms. Mathison and Mrs. Huber.
Last fall, Omeed, Wilson and Dilip (juniors) competed as a team in the Cal Cup1, placing high enough to qualify VCHS to attend this year's National Scholastic Competition which will take place in June in Chicago. Later in the fall, VCHS sent a team to the Regional History Bowl where individually, Omeed placed 2nd in the U.S. History Olympiad and freshman Srikar placed 4th in the Geography Olympiad, qualifying VCHS to attend the national event this spring in Virginia.
We have added a new way to honor our hard working teachers!
The Annual Shakespeare Festival, celebrated by the Eighth Grade Honors English classes, would have made the Bard of Avon proud. Students honored his legacy by sharing in a feast and participating in Elizabethan games and activities.
6 Warriors signed National Letters of Intent to continue playing athletics in college.
From the VCHS Jazz Combos, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, to visiting university choirs such as Chapman College, the lunchtime crowd enjoys beautiful performances by great musicians.
Members of the Winter Winds Ensemble were invited to perform in San Francisco as part of the week-long Super Bowl 50 festivities.

Students traveled to Chabot College three times for rehearsals and performance with JH students chosen from the CMEA Bay Section.
Congratulations to the VCJH Robotics Team WarriorBots for winning the Strategy and Innovation Award at the 2015-2016 Northern California First Lego League Peninsula Championship. Forty-eight teams qualified for this championship by winning one of four awards at one of the regional tournaments in November. Thanks to VCS for all the support throughout this season!

After a first place win in their division, the group was one of five bands invited to finals, and won the top prize over all. Vocal Jazz Ensemble took 4th place out of 17 vocal groups competing.
Studio Band's first competition of the jazz festival season yields 5th place out of 9 bands in their middle school division.
Angeline Kiang will perform at Carnegie Hall in the Winner's Recital on February 13.
The classic French musical is a concert collaboration of the high school choir, orchestra and theatre departments.
The VCJH Aggies Club, under the leadership of advisor Mr. Dwain Fairweather, is getting down and – literally – getting dirty in the soil at Martial Cottle Park. In addition to growing both Winter Wheat and garlic, the Aggies are conducting soil tests to read the Ph levels, which help them determine what to plant where. For example, the students have learned that garlic prefers a much more acidic soil and that alkaline soil will actually produce diminished garlic. Who knew?!? The Aggies Club...that's who knew!
Fourth graders had an exciting day as they experienced "time travel" through California's history...
Life Science students had an awesome opportunity to see how they are "fearfully and wonderfully made" as they extracted DNA using their very own cheek cells!
Math club students have great success in two competitions.
Morgan Hill Times states - A talented and charismatic 13-year-old teen with a passion for singing and entertaining advanced to the semifinal round of the South Bay Teen Idol 2016 competition after her performance Jan. 10 in Los Gatos.
