Meena Rakasi, a (VCJHS) student from San Jose, was honored today as one of the brightest middle school students in the world at a national awards ceremony sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY).
In the Western Band Association California State Championships held at Fresno State on Nov. 22-23, the VCHS Open Air Ensemble competed against bands from both Northern and Southern California.
The Warriors defeated Palma 14-7 on the road in the 1st game of the Open Division CCS Championships.
The Warriors won their 3rd Division 3 crown in as many years by defeating Sacred Heart Cathedral 3-1 on Saturday.

In the Western Bands Association (WBA) competition at Independence HS, VCHS took the first place trophy in Class AAA, and earned awards for Best Visual Effect, Best Music, and Best Percussion. The next competition is this Saturday, Nov. 15 at James Logan HS,Union City. Don't miss the on-campus Preview of Champions on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 8pm in the Skyway stadium.

Junior high students spend time tutoring, offering homework help, and playing with the students at Los Arboles Elementary school as a part of their Community Outreach class.
GEM ST learned about the ionic properties of molecules. The girls used different types of milk with food coloring and detergent to discover the ionic properties of molecules.
In Mrs. Shah's Physical Science class, we (junior high students) learned about the wonders of the incredible egg. We also learned about the physics of the arch model that God designed in eggs and that this is where we get the design for arched bridges! So, YES! You can walk on eggs! Watch this video and see!

On Wednesday October 22, the kindergarten classes visited Emma Prusch Farm.
Students Julian Sanghvi, Stefano Rivellini, Shrutik Musukula, and Rishab Yeddula represented Valley Christian Junior High School with the VCJH ISS project "High Temperature Dispersion in Microgravity to Determine Efficient Methods of Expelling Heat in Space."
Both Junior High and High School choral groups will perform at the spectacular Santa Clara Mission Church on Tuesday, October 28 at 7pm. Admission is free, but parking on campus is $5. Please arrive early for parking.

"Blooming" is chosen as one of six Easter Seal stamp designs
The two day ACSI Honor Band Festival was held on October 16-17 at Ripon Christian School in Ripon, California. Ten Valley Christian high school musicians were chosen to participate: Serena Ang, Jonathan Chon, Clara Gunter, Maxwell Lin-He, Brian Liu, Elyssa Rhea, Shane Ryan, YiLei Henry Wang, and Wilson Wu. VCJH STAR Club went on a treasure hunt! The treasure was a custom-built transmitter and students used a dongle at 144.220 MHz to track it down in the Observatory.
On October 14, the third grade classes ejoyed an exciting day at the Monterey Bay Aqarium. Students had a great time while they learned, discovered and explored the remarkable aquarium exhibits. They participated in a hands on learning lab and where amazed by the spectacular sea life. Afterwards the students enjoyed their lunch together and then boarded the bus to return to campus.
3D Game Design Students Challenge Mrs. Arnett to Play Their Games!
Saturday, October 25 is the date for the Quest Classic, to be held at Chabot College. 17 bands from around the Bay Area are participating in this Western Band Association field show. Valley Christian's Open Air Ensemble will perform in exhibition at 6:36pm, and the Band Boosters and alumni are running the show.
