About AlertNow

The staff at Valley Christian Schools employ AlertNow, an emergency notification system for schools. In the unlikely event of a natural emergency or other urgent matter that affects any of our campuses, AlertNow will be used to communicate important information to parents and guardians.

The information will be provided in the form of a telephone call. The system will try every number on file for you until it either reaches you in person, or gets your voicemail. The pre-recorded message will then either play for you or leave you a message in your voicemail. However, for this system to be effective, parents need to be aware that VCS employs this system, and are willing to follow the procedures outlined here.  Doing so will ensure that you receive timely information.

Please DO NOT hang up and call the school. It is important that you take the time to listen to the entire message, which will normally be constrained to 45-60 seconds in length.
 

The Purpose

The purpose of the AlertNow messaging system is to allow VCS to communicate urgent information to our parents when necessary. For example, the information might include notification of a power outage that has resulted in school closure. The message will typically entail a summary of the situation as well as providing further instructions and other pertinent information. Again, please do not call the front office. This will only hinder your ability to receive timely information.
 

Parental Responsibility

It is vital for VCS to have your current contact information in our database. VCS must be notified when contact information including phone numbers and email addresses are changed or updated. This can be done in one of 2 easy ways. The first is by logging in to your parent portal (click here to login) and updating your contact information. If you have misplaced your log in credentials, please use the "forgot your password" link located at the Parent Portal. Additionally, you may email support@vcs.net for help.
