Over the past few years, CT has revolutionized the way theatre is presented in the beautiful proscenium-style performance space through the addition of a computer operated Vortek rigging system for flying in and out set pieces. A 1,620 square-foot scene shop includes equipment for set construction, wood-working, metl working, scenic painting, and more. Open auditions are held for fall plays, a spring musical, multiple student-directed one-act "Brown Bags," and the honors students' main stage production, Experiments in Comedy and Tragedy

In the spring of 2009, VCT presented the epic musical, Les Miserables. Complete with the traditional turntable and barricade, this musical tour de force marked a new level for the performing arts at VCS. Spring of 2011 brought the production of the classic Fiddler on the Roof.

Summer Theatre at VCS has become one of the largest summer programs at Valley, with nearly 100 performers involved annually. Students ages 7-16 take part in the program which offers instruction in acting, singing and dance while preparing a full-length musical production.

In 2009, the Theatre Arts Conservatory Honor Program was launched, offering students the opportunity to major or minor with a theatre performance emphasis.
