What to Expect at Graduation

As you prepare for your visit to Valley Christian Schools, there are a few things to know.

First, the health and safety of guests and graduates is our top priority. To ensure a safe experience for all, we will be requiring the following:

  • All health and safety measures will be observed, based on California and county guidelines, as well as campus policies, which require continuous masking at graduation ceremonies, except when actively hydrating.
  • Guests will be required to self-screen for COVID symptoms prior to entry. Please do not attend graduation eventsif you answer “yes” to any of these questions:
    • Have you ever had any of these symptoms in the past three (3) days? Yes or No
      • Fever (+100 degrees Fahrenheit)
      • Chills
      • Cough
      •  Sore throat
      •  Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      • Congestion or runny nose
      • Fatigue (new)
      • Muscle/body aches (new)
      • Headaches (new)
      • Loss of sense of smell or taste (new)
      • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
    • In the past 14 days, have you had a positive COVID-19 test? Yes or No

Upon arrival, guest pods will be escorted directly to the seating area. Each pod will be directed to a designated set of seats where they will be seated together. Each graduate or graduate and guests pod will be seated socially distanced.

Following each ceremony, all guests will recess as they are directed row by row, maintaining social distancing. We ask graduates and guests not to congregate in the venue or on campus before or after the ceremony. This will allow us to maintain appropriate social distancing.

Traffic around campus will be heavy, so please plan to arrive early. This will allow time for parking and walking to Warrior Stadium. Gates will open one hour prior to each graduation event. Keep in mind, traffic will be heavy leaving campus after the ceremonies as well. Please plan for additional time to depart.

For guests who are unable to join in person, a livestream of each graduation event will be broadcast on the specific campus graduation website.

Important Note:

Valley Christian Schools cannot allow graduates and guests to loiter after this event, so please make your way off-campus in a timely manner. Please plan to take pictures off-campus.

Novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2 (“COVID-19”), has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies have recommended or required social distancing, the wearing of masks, and imposed other limitations regarding the congregation of groups of people.

Valley Christian Schools (“VCS”) has put in place preventative measures in an attempt to reduce any potential spread of COVID-19; however, VCS cannot guarantee that any attendee to the VCS campus will not become exposed to or infected with COVID-19. Attending graduation in person is not required. Instead, attendance is voluntary and optional, at the discretion of each family. However, attending graduation in person could increase the risk of you or any other household member (“Family”) being exposed to and/or contracting COVID-19.

By choosing to voluntarily enter the VCS campus, you are expressly acknowledging the contagious nature of COVID-19 and agreeing that you are voluntarily assuming the risk of any injury or damage related to COVID-19 for you and your Family. This includes, but is not be limited to, potential personal injury, illness, emotional distress, permanent disability, medical expenses, lost wages or earnings, and death.
