Valley Christian High School students are equipped and encouraged to turn classroom instruction into action using their time and talents to share God’s love in their neighborhoods. Students are required to complete 25 hours of community service each year, though many students serve above and beyond that. In our Bible classes, our students lead on-campus and Bay Area-focused service projects during the school day through the Junior University and Lighthouse programs, tutoring and building relationships with students at local public elementary schools.
As a key component of our college-preparatory curriculum, we seek to prepare future world changers by providing the opportunity to experience the world and spread God’s love to all people. Every year, teams of VCS students and faculty travel the world on short-term missions trips, with some of our past service projects including trips to Africa, Chile, Haiti, India, Mexico, and Thailand. Following Jesus’ call to love by serving those in need, our Warriors Advancing the Lord’s Kingdom (WALK) program connects our students with outside communities to help grow their vision for what God is doing in the world and what He can do in their lives.
Through exposure to Christian mentors, biblical teachings, and meaningful life experiences, VCHS graduates can define and live out their faith beyond our campus, transformed by God’s love. We all seek to be transformed into Christ’s likeness, allowing us to reflect His love and grace through the Gospel to others around the world. Here are just some of the ways VCHS fosters this transformation:
Weekly Chapels with a time of worship, teaching, Scripture reading, and prayer
Every Student will also be engaged in connections that happen within the Chapel program. Students will be connected with other students and a connection group leader for the entire time they are enrolled at Valley Christian High School.
Bi-annual Spiritual Emphasis Week, which gives students teaching from world-renowned Christian Speakers
Bible classes for every grade level, designed as a part of our 4-year Spiritual Plan, including basic courses for students new to Christian teachings
