SLW is a newly added tradition. The week highlighted LOVE. Sharing love with friends and teachers, and knowing the love of Jesus. From games, to a "love tree", to a fun-filled photo booth the students had a blast sharing the love.
Conservatory faculty and private lesson teachers will perform a showcase of talent for students and the Valley Christian community. Admission is free.
Online auditions for Worship Team, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Lab Rhythm Section, Jazz Vocal Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Chamber String Ensemble are due March 1 for current students and new applicants to Valley Christian High School.
New students entering VCS dance should come to auditions for advanced classes. Junior High Dance Workshop, and High School Dance Technique 2, Dance Technique 3 , and Dance Technique 3 Honors, as well as Hip Hop 2 and 3 require auditions. See the article for dates and times.
In February, Christiana Schiller sang for the 2nd time at Carnegie Hall, and will travel to Sydney, Australia to sing with other students from around the world in the 2018 Honors Performance Series.

88 students traveled to Folsom for the 29th annual festival, held on two campuses - Folsom High School in Folsom, CA and Rolling Hills Church in El Dorado Hills, CA. Over 140 middle school and high school jazz bands, vocal jazz choirs, and jazz combos competed. It is the largest jazz competition in California.
At the 2018 ACSI Solo/Ensemble Festival on January 27, hosted at the Valley Christian Conservatory, VCJH students earned high ratings.

The 5th graders took their annual trip up to the Junior High to get a glimpse into their next few years.
Over 80 elementary, junior high and high school students from four Bay Area Christian schools participated in the event on Saturday, January 27, hosted by the Conservatory of the Arts for the twelfth consecutive year. Judges were professional educators and performers from the Bay Area.
A member of the High School Chamber String Ensemble, Melody has won many other awards in violin and piano performance.

On Tuesday, December 12, Valley Christian Schools International Space Station (ISS) Program received a commendation from the San Jose Mayor's Office. Valley Christian Schools President, Dr. Clifford Daugherty and the VP of the AMSE, Danny Kim, were accompanied by a group of ISS students, teachers, and program mentors who proudly represented VCS on the council chamber floor.
This year's Christmas at the California concert showcased a groundbreaking collaboration between the Arts, Academics, and Athletics at Valley Christian Schools. Troy Gunter, VP/Director of the Conservatory of Arts was accompanied on stage by Eric Scharrenberg, VP of Athletics and PE, and Danny Kim, VP of AMSE. 30 VCHS Conservatory students spent the weekend at the Mount Hermon retreat for high schoolers. Music Minors Rachel Melville and Agape Tariku are featured in the Mount Hermon video recap.
Eight students and two mentors traveled to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to compete in the XPRIZE Competition. Shortly after their arrival on Saturday, November 18, they went out to sea to launch their AUVs in front of the judges. That day, everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong.
