The WALK program helps students move beyond the classroom and the local community by offering an immersive cultural experience. Students show the love of Jesus Christ by meeting the needs of hurting people and sharing with them the redemptive power of the Gospel.

South Africa

VCHS students help serve bedridden, home-bound AIDS victims and assist local construction teams to build orphanages. They also supply food, clothing, and uniforms to at-risk children at a squatters camp in Freedom Park, enabling children to attend school.

In partnership with Compassion International, students travel to teach arts at local schools and lead church services. Students also help build churches and schools in the community.

Students journey to Mexico and help feed the hungry, distribute personal necessities, lead Bible services at a drug rehabilitation center, and partner with local organizations to run Vacation Bible School programs in several neighborhoods.

Thailand & Burma

The focus of the Thailand and Burma trip is to immerse students in the Thai and Burmese cultures and to help them minister in community shelters for displaced children. VCS students teach English classes, minister to poor communities, and lead a prayer walk along the Thai/Burma border.

Brazil & Peru

VCHS’s robotics team, the WarriorBorgs, extends globally into South America through our partnership with Restoration Ministries in Brazil and Peru. Every year, the team hosts robotics camps to promote STEM education among the disadvantaged children living in the favelas (slums). Our global outreach encourages children who may have never imagined they could be engineers or scientists to pursue their educational dreams.

In Illoca, a small village destroyed by the 2010 earthquake and tsunami, students serve with IAM, ministering to the youth, building homes for the displaced, and sharing Christ’s message of love and hope to all they meet.
