The Parker String Quartet is currently the quartet in residence at Harvard University. The VCHS strings students were invited to San Jose State University for a special encounter.
Over 145 students spent the weekend of Sept. 14-16 at Jones Gulch YMCA Camp, preparing the Symphonic Chorale & Orchestra Christmas Concerts slated for December.
Melody Choi won 2nd place in both violin and piano at an international competition and performed at Carnegie Hall, along with other honors; Ansel Austin was selected to perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival with a San Jose Jazz All-Stars Combo.

All Valley Christian students are invited to participate, but the majority of students are Music Majors and Minors, Conservatory Chorus members, and Chamber String Ensemble and String Ensemble members. Rehearsals have begun and will culminate in a gala performance in December at the "Christmas at the California Theatre" finale concert.
"Searching" opens on the big screen, and is playing locally at Oakridge Century 20 theatres. VCS alumni may remember Aneesh from his performances on the main Skyway stage and behind the scenes in Theatre Department productions.

The hard work of the editors and staff paid off to earn the designation of "National Yearbook Program of Excellence," which only 2% of yearbooks nationwide are so designated.
Joey will be a senior at Valley Christian High School in the Fall.

Art Show for high school and junior high starts after school, with Conservatory diplomas awarded at 5:30pm in the hall. Music Showcase starts at 7pm, with Conservatory diplomas awarded at the beginning of the event. Free admission.
"Fiddler on the Roof" actress nominated in the 2018 Rita Moreno California High School Musical Honors competition.
Professional judges from the university community chose five top musicians.

Jazz Ensemble, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Lab Band will compete at the University of Nevada, Reno campus, along with more than 350 other school groups.

45 high school and 3 junior high students performed their show, "Chrome X," taking the top award in their division in both preliminaries and finals competition.

A two-day trip to San Bernardino ended with a great performance and first place trophy for the Spring marching band activity, also known as Winter Winds, in the Winter Guard International organization that hosts regional and national indoor competitions.
