Freshman Emily James wins First Place Soloist in the Middle Division; the team scores 2nd Place in Small Hip-Hop & Character Dance, and 3rd Place in Officers' & Small Jazz Dance.
Leading up to championships in Orlando, Florida, the Vivid Dance Team placed quite well at three competitions in the Bay Area.
The Junior High & High School Winter Guard teams have done well on the 2016 California Color Guard Circuit.
After recording her first LP in Los Angeles, Anja traveled to her home for the competition, being nominated for Best Performance, Best Song, and Best New Artist, winning the latter.
"I AM" was the theme for this year's camp enjoyed by 23 students.
In Calgary, the band won "The Rose Bowl Trophy for Most Outstanding Sr. High School Jazz Band."
His performance with Ice-T and Ron McCurdy: The Langston Hughes Project, was nominated by the Jazz FM Awards for Best Live Experience of the Year. Please vote for his group!

Valley Christian Junior High is proud to announce that our very own Hunter Liu, eighth grade, has qualified as one of the top 100 students in the state of California in this year's National Geographic Bee. This is truly a great honor and an impressive achievement!

Vittal Thirumalai, eighth grader at VCJH, won first place at the recent Math League Competition. This qualifies him for the MathLeague Bay Area Middle School Championship which takes place in Saratoga this March. Congratulations!
On February 11, 2016 the ASL class was taken to breakfast by Ms. Mathison and Mrs. Huber.
Stanford Splash is a program held at Stanford University that brings high school and middle school students from everywhere to Stanford's campus for a two-day (April 9-10) learning extravaganza. Classes are taught by Stanford undergraduates, graduate students, and other community members. Classes fill up quickly! Registration begins March 16 at 7:30 pm.
Last fall, Omeed, Wilson and Dilip (juniors) competed as a team in the Cal Cup1, placing high enough to qualify VCHS to attend this year's National Scholastic Competition which will take place in June in Chicago. Later in the fall, VCHS sent a team to the Regional History Bowl where individually, Omeed placed 2nd in the U.S. History Olympiad and freshman Srikar placed 4th in the Geography Olympiad, qualifying VCHS to attend the national event this spring in Virginia.
We have added a new way to honor our hard working teachers!
The Annual Shakespeare Festival, celebrated by the Eighth Grade Honors English classes, would have made the Bard of Avon proud. Students honored his legacy by sharing in a feast and participating in Elizabethan games and activities.
6 Warriors signed National Letters of Intent to continue playing athletics in college.
From the VCHS Jazz Combos, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, to visiting university choirs such as Chapman College, the lunchtime crowd enjoys beautiful performances by great musicians.
Members of the Winter Winds Ensemble were invited to perform in San Francisco as part of the week-long Super Bowl 50 festivities.

Students traveled to Chabot College three times for rehearsals and performance with JH students chosen from the CMEA Bay Section.
Congratulations to the VCJH Robotics Team WarriorBots for winning the Strategy and Innovation Award at the 2015-2016 Northern California First Lego League Peninsula Championship. Forty-eight teams qualified for this championship by winning one of four awards at one of the regional tournaments in November. Thanks to VCS for all the support throughout this season!
