A rolling cucumber covered in Fondant? Could it happen?  How about using a Twinkie for a body chassis? Can marshmallows roll? All these questions and many more were asked and answered by twenty-three fifth grade teams during VCES 2nd Annual Edible Car Race. After a keynote session featuring Mr. Carl Steeves, from Agilent, Mr. Danny Kim, from Full Armor, and Mr. Matt Santos from Lockheed Martin, promising fifth grade engineers huddled up and began the grueling design process. Their challenge, design a car using only items edible to humans.  Time and weather played a critical factors and students really had to collaborate to solve a myriad of problems. But in the end fun was had by all!
