Finalists will be announced on Tuesday, May 3, with finals competition held on Saturday, May 7 at 7pm.
Auditions must be made before signing up for following classes/groups: HS Wind Ensemble, HS Women's Vocal Ensemble, HS String Ensemble (new students), HS Chamber String Ensemble, HS Jazz Lab Rhythm Section, Piano Accompanists, JH Quest Band/Studio Band, JH Vocal Ensemble.

The HS Jazz Ensemble wins in the HS Large Jazz Ensemble category; the JH Jazz Trio won the Jr. High Small Jazz Group category.
Life Science students are on a mission, again! This time, the students are exploring and discovering the various organs within the systems of the frog, as well as identifying how the systems function together to accomplish a specific purpose. From the looks of it, students are enjoying their time finding and learning together the overall function of the frog's body.
This past weekend, The Tech Museum was filled with nearly 2700 fourth through twelfth grade students as they participated in The Tech Challenge 2016: Taking Flight competition. While there were more than 200 teams of sixth grade students, Valley Christian's Rik Mukerjee and his teammates made quite a name for themselves with their Second Place in the "Best Overall" category!
Congratulations to VCJH's very own Acadia Szmauz who earned First Place at the Sharks Ice Bunny Hop Ice Skating Competition on April 17. Even though it had been nearly a full year since Acadia last competed, she brought her best skills to this new routine and nailed it!
Music Major Miles Huang also receives full scholarship to the prestigious summer program in Northwestern Michigan.
The annual festival held at San Jose State draws schools from around the Bay Area to perform and receive judges marks from the California Music Educators Association.
Don't forget that Monday, April 25th is an official, NO-SCHOOL DAY for Students and an In-Service Day for Teachers. Students are not required to come to school on this date!
On April 8th, SpaceX's Dragon capsule launched on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral with three more ISS Program student experiments aboard. Through diligent teamwork, students apply physics, chemistry, math, science and engineering principles to each experiment.
Over 70 VCS students and faculty traveled to Thailand, Burma, South Africa, and Chile to serve alongside effective ministries and VCS alumni during Easter break. In February our students also served the children of Grace Public Schools in India. Our students are sharing God's goodness, peace, and joy with children worldwide.
In Cape Canaveral, on March 22, an Atlas 5 rocket launched a Cygnus cargo freighter containing multiple ISS team experiments. The microlabs were successfully installed at the ISS on March 27th. AMSE students conceive, design, build, test, integrate and qualify each experiment which must provide data important to support human life both on earth and in space.
Students in Piano, Strings, Choir, Color Guard and Marching Band enjoyed two days at the park and music enrichment, along with a fun trip with friends!
On April 12, 2016, twelve Speech Meet students, three CMT students, and three adults boarded the bus at Valley Christian School and headed to Fremont to attend the District ACSI Speech Meet.
This July, Daniella Ciprian, will play in the Gothial Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden! Way to go, Daniella!
Over Easter break, Skyler Smith competed in the 2016 Speedo Far Western Championships, which is the fastest age group swimming meet in the country. Skyler won the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 30.10, a time fast enough to make her the Far Western Champion! Skyler broke a 19-year-old Far Western Record with that time, and also broke and now holds the Pacific Swimming Record. Congratulations Skyler!

The top three big bands chosen out of 13 will be invited to perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival in September. Go Warriors!!
VCJH Math Club students have been focusing their mathematical talents on competing at the highest level!
All VCJH families are invited to "root, root, root" for the home team on Friday, April 15, at 4pm! Come join us at the Skyway Campus Baseball Stadium for a great time of food, fun, and foam Warrior spirit hands. There will be specially-priced concession packages consisting of a hotdog, chips, and a drink for $4 for anyone who RSVPs by Wednesday, April 13.
