Chiapas VCHS IMPACT Trip
Every year, our Valley Christian High School students have the opportunity to go on an IMPACT trip somewhere around the world to gain exposure to the realities of life outside of the Silicon Valley, and to make an impact in the lives of others as the hands and feet of Jesus. This year we had trips to the Philippines, Rwanda, Baja, Mexico and Chiapas, Mexico.
14 Valley Christian High School students chose to explore the land of Chiapas, partnering with Broken Rib Coffee and Casa Hogar Alegre to see just how we could help change the lives of over 100 orphaned and abandoned children and impoverished coffee farmers in the poorest state in Mexico. What we did not realize was how much our own lives would be changed on this trip, giving our BEI and Social Innovation students a desire to use their passions and skills to continue to support the mission of Casa Hogar Alegre and Broken Rib Coffee. We left knowing that our mission in Chiapas is not over, but has only just begun.
