Are parents invited to the New Student Sunrise event?
This event is for students only, so students have the opportunity to connect with peers. Students can be picked up at noon, but we recommend that they stay for the Back to School Bash as long as they would like. Typically most students will be done with the Back to School Bash by 1:30pm. Students will need to bring money with them to purchase lunch from one of our food truck vendors ($20-40 recommended for food, drinks, and a dessert). Personal group tours of the campus will also be provided if students so desire.
What happens at the New Student Sunrise event?
Our VCHS student orientation event is titled “Student Sunrise.” Students will have opportunities to participate in a handful of 30 minute sessions focusing on how to be a successful student at VCHS. This also allows our new students to come and get to meet new friends. New Student Sunrise will take place on Monday, August 14, from 8am to 12pm. New Students will have a chance to attend sessions introducing them to VCHS, to tour the campus, and to get all their questions answered. Check in opens at 8am in the Gym Building.
What is the Back to School Bash? Is this a mandatory event?
This new event is taking the place of VCHS’ traditional Registration Day. It is not mandatory, but we encourage all students to attend for some fun as a Warrior community. This is a time to get back on campus, find classrooms, get any questions answered, and reconnect with friends. Valley Christian High School invites all our High School Students to our Back 2 School Bash on Monday, August 14, from 12-3 pm. Six food trucks will be available, so please bring $12-$15 for lunch (credit/debit accepted). Allergy and vegetarian-friendly options are available. We will also have inflatables and yard games for students to have fun connecting with classmates.
Where can I drop off and pick up our students for the New Student Sunrise and Back to School Bash?
Please drop off and pick up your student in front of the football stadium on this day. It would be wise to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the event to help ease the traffic congestion for drop-off. Pick-up time will be unique to the students in relation to a student's participation in the Back to School Bash following the New Student Sunrise event.
