International Student Events
International 6th – 8th Grade Students
MATH PLACEMENT
All newly accepted students are required to take a math placement test. The test for new international students will be administered during New International Student Orientation.
SUMMER PROGRAMS
A variety of optional summer programs will be offered during the months of June through August. These programs may be offered on a daily or weekly basis. They will assist students in the preparation for the coming school year and help familiarize them with our campus. The details will be available on vcs.net, in the month of March. Please note the first day F-1 international students are allowed to enter the US using their student visa, which is approved for attending Valley Christian, is June 28, 2025.
NEW PARENT ORIENTATION
We highly encourage new parents to join us for dinner and a chance to connect with our Principal and the VCS community.

NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION EVENTS
These orientation events are mandatory for all new international students and their parents. You will receive essential information about VCS and the International Student Program. You will have the opportunity to connect with current VCJH students and administrators. This will be a valuable experience to learn more about VCS and the support provided through the International Student Program.

iPAD SETUP
Parents will receive information to assist their child with their iPad setup. The information will be initially sent in the month of August and the communication will continue until the start of school. Click here to view further iPad requirement details.
Important iPad Reminders for New International Students
It is important that you note the following guidelines prior to setting up your iPad.

You may purchase an iPad outside of the US; however, for the best outcome, it is recommended you purchase one in the US. For iPad specifications requirements, refer to iPad Requirements in the flyer.

Use a US credit card or iTunes gift card to set up your iPad regardless of where you are—in the US or overseas—at the time of setup. Otherwise, you may encounter an issue purchasing and/or downloading textbooks.
- Your Apple ID should be associated with your Warriorlife email address, which is your VCS school email. This information is also included in your VCS Welcome Packet. If you already own an iPad and your iPad is associated with a pre-existing Apple ID, it must be your personal Apple ID, not shared with anyone else. If the Apple ID is shared with anyone else, you will need to reset your iPad.

EARLY AUGUST | ORDER YOUR BOOKS/INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR START-OF-SCHOOL
You will receive an email at the start of August that has specific information that you will need for the start of school. This will include instructions on how to order your books and other critical specifics.
AUGUST 13 | NEW STUDENT SUNRISE
New students will have a chance to attend sessions introducing them to VCHS, tour the campus, and get all their questions answered. Check-in opens at 8am in the Main Gym. After scheduled sessions, students will be encouraged to purchase lunch from one of the food trucks* and attend the New Student Club Fair. This will be a great way for incoming students to begin building community. During this time, IT and digital textbook support will be available. Students will also be able to find their classrooms, mingle with teachers, and request needed changes to their schedule in the counseling center. If you have questions, please email Nathan Smith, Vice Principal of Student Life.
*Allergy and vegetarian-friendly options will be available.

- Students who do not wish to attend lunch and the club fair may be picked up at 12:30pm.
- Most students will finish with lunch and the club fair by 1:30pm.
Lunch Information:
Students should bring money to purchase lunch from one of our food truck vendors. Allergy-friendly and vegetarian options will be available.
- Recommended amount: $20-$25 for food, drinks, and dessert
- Payment methods: Credit cards and Apple Pay will be accepted
Personal group tours of the campus will be available for students who are interested.
What happens at the New Student Sunrise event?
Our VCHS student orientation event, New Student Sunrise, helps students transition successfully into student life at VCHS. Students will participate in multiple 30-minute sessions introducing them to campus life, academic resources, and student involvement opportunities.

- Location: Check-in begins at 8:00am in the Main Gym
Throughout the event, students will:
- Attend sessions on student success at VCHS
- Tour the campus
- Meet academic and college counselors
- Connect with new classmates

Where can I drop off and pick up my student for the New Student Sunrise?
Please drop off and pick up your student in front of the football stadium on this day. It would be wise to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the event to help ease the traffic congestion for drop-off. Pick-up time will be unique to each student depending on the student’s participation in lunch and club fair activities.

TRANSFER STUDENT ORIENTATION
Transfer students (10th-12th graders new to VCHS 2025-26) are encouraged to attend our transfer student orientation while their parents are at the New Parent Night on Skyway Campus.
- Event Leaders: Student leaders, Associated Student Body (ASB) teachers, and members of the counseling team.
- What to Expect: Meet other transfer students and get help with any scheduling questions. A tour will be given so that you know exactly how to find your classrooms. There will also be a student panel where you can get a feel for our school culture and ask any questions you may have.
- Who to Contact: Please email Rira Seo if you plan on attending so that we can print your schedule for your small group tour.
